Ready to get in touch with nature, then hiking at Prompton is for you. Lace up your boots and bring your pack, you can easily spend hours exploring Prompton’s trails. In the early 1950’s, the 1500 acres of the park were dotted with small farms. With the construction of the Army Corp Dam and lake these farms ceased to exist. Yet, you now have the opportunity to hike Prompton’s extensive trail system and see the overgrown orchards, old fallen down sugar shacks, houseless foundations, and pastures that were once grazed but are now overgrown with the area’s greenery. You can hike these trails solo or with family and friends. Plenty of photo opportunities abound and we invite you to get out and explore the outdoors!
